Orange Gummies

Confections don’t have to be unhealthy when prepared with natural sweeteners and fresh juices. These gummy candies are textured like Jello, but have the sweet, tangy taste of fresh oranges. You could even try blending different freshly squeezed citrus juices for a different take on this easy dessert.

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Chilling Time: 2 to 3 hours


Ingredients

1½ cup orange juice 
4 tablespoons gelatin powder 
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional) 


Directions

1. Heat the orange juice in a saucepan set over low heat.

2. Slowly whisk in the gelatin 1 tablespoon at a time. It will get a little foamy but the foam will go down. Whisk in the honey or maple syrup (optional).

3. Pour into 16-cavity mini silicone molds or a glass dish.

4. Refrigerate until firm, about 2 to 3 hours.

5. Unmold the gummies or if you used a glass dish, cut into 16 pieces. Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
