Meyer Lemon & Rosemary Spritzer

Looking for a refreshing cocktail to make this holiday season? This spritzer with fresh Meyer lemon juice and rosemary is the perfect drink to sip at your holiday event! The best part is you can drink it as a refreshing mocktail or as a fun cocktail with your choice of spirit. Don’t be fooled thinking this is a summer beverage, Meyer lemons are only in season in the winter making this a fresh alternative to typically heavier beverages this time of year.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, de-stemmed, more for garnish
1 teaspoon dried Juniper Berries
Zest of one Meyer lemon
1 cup fresh Meyer lemon juice (much sweeter than regular lemon)
3-6 tablespoons maple syrup (depends on desired sweetness)
3 oz of gin, vodka or whiskey (optional) 
Ice 
Sparkling Water


Directions

1. Place some ice in 2 glasses. 

2. In a cocktail shaker, add the rosemary, juniper berries, and Meyer lemon zest, and muddle until fragrant.

3. Add maple syrup, Meyer lemon juice and spirit if using and some ice. Top the shaker and shake. 

4. Strain into each glass evenly. Top with a splash of sparkling water and garnish with fresh rosemary and a Meyer lemon slice.
