Blood Orange Cranberry Sauce
/This unique take on cranberry sauce includes vibrant, zesty blood orange. This sauce is bright and tangy, and the perfect addition to a rich holiday meal with hints of warming spices. If serving a crowd, be sure to scale this sauce up as it will go quickly.

Ingredients
½ cup blood orange juice (about 3 depending on size)
1 tablespoon blood orange zest
¼ cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cloves
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon salt
16 oz fresh cranberries
Directions
1. In a large saucepan, whisk the blood orange juice with the zest, maple syrup, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg and salt until combined.
2. Add the fresh cranberries and bring to a simmer over low heat, stirring often until the cranberries begin to blister.
3. If needed add some water to give the sauce a more fluid consistency.
4. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more maple syrup if desired.
5. Once your desired consistency is reached and the berries are blistered, remove from heat and let cool completely.
6. Store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to use.
