Rosemary Blood Orange Cocktail

This sweet and savory cocktail has festive flair with the taste of ruby blood orange juice and rosemary’s piney scent. Although this recipe serves only two, it is easy to scale up in a pinch, especially when hosting during the holiday season.

Ingredients

3 to 4 blood oranges depending on size
Ice cubes
1 to 2 tablespoons rosemary simple syrup (depending on desired sweetness)
3 oz gluten free vodka or mezcal (optional)
Soda water
Rosemary sprigs (for garnish)


Directions

1. Peel a few pieces of blood orange peel to reserve for garnish.

2. Squeeze the juice of all the blood oranges and set aside, straining to make sure there are no pits.

3. Place a few large ice cubes in two cocktail tumblers.

4. In a shaker with some ice, add the blood orange juice, rosemary simple syrup and alcohol if using. Shake a few times and pour over the ice in the tumblers. Top with the soda water.

5. Garnish with orange skin and rosemary sprigs, and serve.
